Low Carb Smoked Salmon Spread is one of those recipes that is simple to make and fabulous to serve. It’s a perfect centerpiece for a weekend brunch. It’s just two ingredients. The smoky savory flavor will become a favorite of salmon-lovers.
While it’s good dolloped on cucumber slices and celery sticks, you can spread it on a toasted Speedy Low Carb English Muffin. The recipe is at Low Carb Joy and it’s microwave fast.
No Smoked Salmon Available?
Here’s what you can do if smoked salmon is unavailable at the store or you simply have grilled salmon leftovers in the fridge: Use a great kitchen secret called Liquid Smoke. It is very concentrated and for this recipe you will only need a very few drops. Less than 1/4th of a teaspoon. I’d start with two drops and then after stirring it in, add more to taste, if needed.
Want to add a bit more zip?
Though the Low Carb Smoked Salmon Spread is quite flavorful with just the 2 basic ingredients, you add a bit of zip to this recipe. If you’d like it to be slightly zestier you can add up to a Tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. For a bit of color add 1-2 teaspoons of fresh, finely chopped parsley. The parsley looks nice and doesn’t interfere with the fabulous flavor. I should mention that there is no added salt as both the salmon and cheese seem to have enough. Enjoy! – Laura
