I love making my own seasoning blends and this chop house seasoning recipe is one of my favorites.
This seasoning is the beginning of great pork chops. I sprinkle this on pork chops no matter what chop recipe I’m making. This DIY seasoning mix isn’t exotic or complicated and you may have the required spices in your cupboard right now.
What you’ll need
You’ll need: Salt, white pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, ground ginger, and cayenne (opt). If you don’t have the white pepper, you can use regular black pepper. The entire recipe makes about 1/4 cup of Chop House Seasoning. It’s enough to season about a dozen to a dozen and half pork chops.
Favorite ways to use it
One of my favorite recipes to use this in is my Harvest Maple Chops Recipe. I’m also likely to sprinkle a bit on when putting the Asian Marinated Chops on the grill. Give it a try the next time you prepare pork chops. All in all, I hope you’ll enjoy like I do. — Laura

The Sea of July
Lastly, I wanted to say it’s not easy to wade onto the shores of August from the vast sea of July. I was far from cell service and glowing screens for much of July.
Most my time was spent out of doors by default and I have a crazy great tan that I never expected.
I spent time with family, jet skis, dozens of butterflies, my camera, paint brushes, a small town parade, summer books, grand kids and a Young Women’s Church camp.
With those charming young ladies, while on a mountain top, I was privileged to witness a Chinese booster rocket falling across the Utah night sky like a million shooting stars.
It may not seem like it every day however the natural world is filled with wonders and treasures not the least of which are the people in it. I sometimes need to leave the screen to go find them. 🙂
