I created the art and these little envelope-style Halloween treat bags a few years ago as part of my costume…
I made up bunches and bunches and presented them at my front door on a silver platter. My costume consisted of a crisp cotton summer dress, voile apron, perfect red lipstick and 3″ heels. Know who I was yet? Here’s another clue: I had a couple of blinky electronic thingies pinned in my hair and a permanent smile plastered on my face. —Yup — I was a Stepford wife. Of course it went right over the kids heads, but the grown-ups had a good laugh.
I had a lot of fun designing and making these little Halloween treat bags and today I’m sharing them with you. There are six colorful designs. They are printed on an 8.5″ x 11 sheet of regular paper, though card stock would also work well.
They are an easy cut, fold and glue project. The kids will have fun helping with this, especially if they are stuffing them with treats for their friends and/or classmates.
There are guides on the back flap for making holes if you’d like to thread ribbon or string through them as a closer. Alternatively, you could just glue or tape them shut once they are stuffed.
Materials you will need for the Halloween Treat bags:
-
a color printer and paper
-
scissors
-
glue stick or low temp hot glue gun
-
hole punch (optional)
-
10 inches twine or narrow ribbon per bag (optional)
-
treats to place in bags
-
scotch tape (if not using twine or ribbon)
